Angus and Leanne have over 20 years of experience in the fitness industry (they even met at the gym - cute!). Now they’re bringing their expertise and passion to District - a new concept in boutique fitness.

With a background in competitive football and sport science, Angus knows the benefits of regular exercise and training. He’s passionate about helping others achieve their goals every day at District.

On top of personal training, Leanne’s experience encompasses marketing and law. Prior to District, and wanting to achieve a balance across her training, Leanne found herself with three separate memberships spread across the city: CrossFit, Yoga and a regular Gym. With a busy corporate job and three kids, navigating three different locations was time-consuming and inconvenient.

So why couldn’t District have the best of all three, in one purpose-built space?

With so many low-service, budget models springing up everywhere, there was a huge opportunity to create a premium, full service environment where members felt supported to achieve their goals.

Having successfully completed several house renovations over the years, and with a keen eye for interior design, Angus and Leanne carefully designed the space to reflect their vision. A welcoming front of house and open space, well-lit walkways, great amenities, and of course – 3 custom studios that complement each other.

And with studio managers who are experts in their field, looking after the respective studios, Angus and Leanne can focus on fine-tuning District’s first site.

From the moment of booking a class online, to that post-class sweaty moment of accomplishment - the District experience is unlike any other in New Zealand.

When they’re not in the gym or working on the business, fitness is still a huge part of Angus and Leanne’s lives. They love being involved in the wider fitness community and spending time being active with their three kids.
