Welcome to the team Josh + Laura

Direct from the UK we’re excited to announce the arrival of Laura Brown and Josh Whiteley to the District team. With extensive experience in the overseas markets we’re excited to have these guys on board to help us #raisethebar in 2019.

Josh Whiteley - Head Of Fitness (Boxing, HIIT, Metric Cycle)

Josh started his career in fitness 10 years ago after embarking on his own fitness journey. Since then Josh has worked his way around the UK as a personal trainer and health club manager. He’s most recently been working as an head trainer and manager within the London boutique fitness market. Outside of the studio Josh competes in running races & duathlons ranging in distances from 5k to 250km stage races across the desert. Josh can’t wait to make his mark here at District and help members here achieve whatever goals they’ve set. Find out more about Josh Below.

Share a fun fact:

Used to be 18 stone (114kgs) so I know what it’s like to have to start from the beginning.

Favourite track to use in a class:

Greyhound - Swedish House Mafia

Favourite in class moment:

Team teaching a class with Sir Chris Hoy. (Chris Hoy is a Scottish racing driver and former track cyclist who represented Great Britain at the Olympics and World Championships and Scotland at the Commonwealth Games).

Favourite Client Moment:

Myself and Laura had a client who approached us as a full time smoker living a very unhealthy life and on the fast track to an early grave. He started taking classes and he couldn’t get through a full workout but he’s now stopped smoking, started eating right and competes in 50, 100 and 200km races across England. He is living proof that if you want something and are prepared to work for it you can achieve incredible things.

What can people expect in your class:

People can expect to work harder than they (probably) have before and smash whatever goals they set - NOTE: it will not be easy!

Laura Brown - Head Of Fitness (MindBody, Rhythm Ride)

Laura started her career as a dancer and has been teaching fitness for the last 7 years at some of London’s most successful fitness boutiques. Outside of the studio, Laura is a triathlete who represented Great Britain in 2017 in the 70mile Middle Distance European Championships. Laura is super pumped to be a part of the District team and share her knowledge and experience with our members here. We recently dug deeper with Laura to find out more about this pocket rocket.

Share a fun fact:

I was a dancer in the Olympic Closing ceremony in 2012.

Favourite track to use in a class:

Do or Die - 30 seconds to mars VS Afrojacks

Favourite in class moment:

I once kicked Gerrard Butler out of my class after he walked into the wrong room halfway through. At the time I didn’t realise who it was.

Favourite Client Moment:

Same as Josh. Nick is absolutely inspirational.

What can people expect in your class:

An intense sweaty class which is fun but motivating. I also appreciate throwing in an old school rock anthem from time to time.
